Cruise Cost Calculator
Put in the fare you were quoted and the calculator adds what the brochure leaves out: gratuities at each line's 2026 rate, drinks, Wi-Fi, port fees, excursions, flights, a hotel night and insurance.
What the calculator adds, and where the numbers come from
A cruise fare covers your cabin, most meals, the pools and the shows. What it usually leaves out adds up to a large share of the trip, and the calculator puts each part on the table.
- Gratuities are charged per person per night, children included, at each line’s own 2026 rate. See cruise gratuities explained.
- Taxes and port fees depend on where you sail. Royal Caribbean and Carnival now include them in the price they show in the US; if your quote does not, untick the box and the calculator adds a typical amount for the region. See cruise port fees and taxes.
- Drinks are counted for adults only, either as a few drinks a day at typical bar prices or as a package. See are drink packages worth it.
- Wi-Fi is priced per device per day, at the line’s published rate where there is one. See cruise ship Wi-Fi cost.
- Excursions, flights and a hotel night are the costs people forget because they are paid somewhere else. Flying in the day before is the most useful piece of advice in cruising, so the hotel night is on by default.
- Insurance is estimated at 7 percent of the trip, the middle of the 5 to 10 percent range the NAIC gives. See cruise travel insurance.
The defaults describe a typical week in the Caribbean for two adults. Change any of them to match your own quote; nothing you enter leaves your browser.
People also ask
How much does a 7-day cruise really cost?
For two adults in a standard cabin on a mainstream line, a fare of about $2,000 usually turns into $3,500 to $4,500 once gratuities, a few drinks a day, Wi-Fi, two excursions each, flights and a hotel night are added. The calculator shows the split for your own numbers.
Are gratuities included in the cruise fare?
On most mainstream lines they are not. They are added to your onboard account per person per night, at about $17 to $20 in a standard cabin in 2026, and a little more in suites.
Does the calculator include taxes and port fees?
It can. Royal Caribbean and Carnival now show US fares with taxes and fees included, so the box is ticked by default. If your quote lists them separately, untick it and a typical amount for the region is added per person.
